Recap: Hixson Wildcats vs. CSTHEA P Patriots
The Hixson Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to CSTHEA P at home by a decisive 58-44 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Hixson of the 92-62 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
CSTHEA P's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonathan Swanson, who scored 14 points along with eight steals. Swanson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Mason Deschaine was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Hixson's defeat was their 19th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for CSTHEA P, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hixson will square off against Soddy Daisy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Soddy Daisy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hixson in Tennessee (Soddy Daisy is ranked 189th, while Hixson is ranked 392nd). As for CSTHEA P, they will head out on the road to square off against Bradley Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bradley Knights is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
