Soccer Recap: Picayune Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Picayune can now relate to. While the 4-4 score might suggest a draw, it was the George County Rebels who were credited with the victory on Saturday. The George County Rebels got it done in the shootout by posting six goals to the Picayune Maroon Tide's five. The Maroon Tide were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Picayune's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6-1. As for George County, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Picayune does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for George County, they will face off against West Jones on Tuesday. West Jones will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something George County surely won't give up without a fight.
