Softball Game Preview: Robinson Rockets vs. Ingleside Mustangs

For the second straight game, Robinson will face off against Ingleside. The Rockets will face off against the Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Robinson 2.7, Ingleside 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Robinson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Ingleside 6-4.

Raelynn Van Zee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Kaygen Marshall was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Haven Hansen, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Robinson's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 36-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Ingleside, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 30-11 record.
