Baseball Game Preview: Chowchilla Tribe vs. Minarets Mustangs

The Chowchilla Tribe will venture away from home to challenge the Minarets Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Chowchilla knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Minarets likes a good challenge.

Chowchilla's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They didn't even let Minarets on the board, marking the Tribe's second-straight 11-0 shutout. The Tribe might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Chowchilla let Zayden Kobzoff and Tristan Beardsley run wild. Kobzoff went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs, while Beardsley went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Kobzoff is becoming a predictor of Chowchilla's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Dillon Watkins, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Chowchilla's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-12. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Minarets, they moved to 8-15 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.
