Volleyball Recap: Southeast Cyclones vs. Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers
Southeast was the 2-0 winner over Lingle-Fort Laramie when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Cyclones fell just short of the Doggers by a score of 3-2 on Friday.
Southeast actually scored more points across those five sets (107-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 23-25, 26-24, 25-19, 14-25, 16-14.
Hadley Leithead paced Southeast's offense, picking up 18 kills. Leithead got some help from Keana Llewellyn and her 36 assists. Bailey Mehling controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Southeast's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 16-5. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.
Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Southeast and Rock River will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Banner County on the 4th.
