Basketball Recap: Alliance Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Alliance and McCook squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Alliance had to settle for second. They took a 91-77 bruising from the McCook Bison. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Espen Lanik, who posted 23 points and six steals. Lanik is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Seth Meyring, who went 8-for-15 en route to 18 points.

Alliance's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for McCook, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.

Alliance does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McCook, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-48 defeat against Scottsbluff on the 27th.
