Softball Recap: Galesburg Silver Streaks vs. Rock Island Rocks

Galesburg extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 37 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-32 in the process. They lost 17-0 to the Rock Island Rocks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rocks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 back in April.

As for Rock Island, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season. The result was nothing new for Rock Island, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Rock Island's part, Lilly McDaniel made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts McDaniel has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one RBI.
