Volleyball Recap: Monroe Area Comes Up Short

Monroe Area lost against Lakeside back in September of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Purple Hurricanes fell 2-0 to the Panthers. The Purple Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-16.

Lakeside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Miller, who had nine assists and four aces. That's the most aces Miller has posted over her last seven contests. Campbell King also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Monroe Area's defeat dropped their record down to 10-22. As for Lakeside, their win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-4.

Monroe Area wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Eastside on the 23rd. As for Lakeside, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Loganville Christian Academy on the 20th.
