Recap: South Bend vs. Ocosta Wildcats

This season hasn't been kind to South Bend, who are still winless after their 14th match. They took a serious blow against Ocosta on Thursday, falling 72-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat South Bend has suffered since December 20, 2023.

Despite the defeat, South Bend had strong showings from Adam Mora, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Michael Nunez, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mora has scored all season.

Tarren Lewis was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals for Ocosta. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Turner, who scored ten points along with three steals.

South Bend's defeat was their 15th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-14. As for Ocosta, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.

South Bend will take on Chief Leschi at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chief Leschi presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Bend in Washington (Chief Leschi is ranked 126th, while South Bend is ranked 365th). As for Ocosta, they will head out on the road to take on Ilwaco at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Ilwaco's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
