Softball Recap: Shaker Heights Starts Season with Win Against Brush

Shaker Heights had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Brush Arcs on Tuesday.

Scout Harvey spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Shaker Heights got a massive performance out of Ekko Armstrong, who went 4-for-5 with six RBI, three doubles, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Brush is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Shaker Heights has already played their next contest, a 22-5 victory against Beaumont School on the 4th. As for Brush, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 24-23 defeat against Hawken on the 2nd.
