Soccer Game Preview: Sheldon vs. Monterey Trail

The Sheldon Huskies will head out to take on the Monterey Trail Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Sheldon's offense. They lost 5-0 to Franklin on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 782nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 143rd).

Meanwhile, Monterey Trail kept a clean sheet against Laguna Creek on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Nicole Gonzalez and Xihuapily Virrueta scored both of Monterey Trail's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Monterey Trail's win bumped their record up to 9-6-4. As for Sheldon, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9-2.
