Volleyball Recap: St. Edward Green Wave vs. Streamwood Sabres
St. Edward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Streamwood Sabres. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Green Wave of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.
The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-10.
Robby Sommer paced St. Edward's offense, picking up two kills. Sommer got some help from Cutler Brauer and his three assists.
St. Edward's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Streamwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.
St. Edward is taking a road trip to challenge Wheaton Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Streamwood, they have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Elgin on the 14th.
