Baseball Game Preview: Reedsville Panthers vs. Roncalli Jets

The Reedsville Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Roncalli Jets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Roncalli will be up against a hot Reedsville team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Panthers put the hurt on Manitowoc Lutheran with a sharp 9-1 victory on Thursday.

Lucas Lodel made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Roncalli came out on top against Sheboygan Falls on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Jets' pitchers stepped up to hand the Falcons an 8-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Jets in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.

Roncalli's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Reedsville, their record is now 14-6.
