After a string of 11 wins, Lubbock's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against the Tascosa Rebels, falling 12-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Westerners have suffered since March 7, 2024.

Lubbock got a good showing from Aaron Chavira, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Chavira gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Isaac Trevino made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Genaro Carrillo was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Lubbock's loss dropped their record down to 11-6-1. As for Tascosa, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season.

While Lubbock had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
