Baseball Recap: Santa Fe South Takes a Loss

Santa Fe South lost against Lawton back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Saints fell 7-4 to the Wolverines. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Drew Cabrera was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Santa Fe South: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-17 otherwise. Adrian Rayos was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Santa Fe South's loss dropped their record down to 10-18. As for Lawton, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-24 record.

Coincidentally, Santa Fe South and Lawton will both be playing Putnam City West the next time they take the field. The Saints will host the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wolverines will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
