Basketball Recap: Ravenswood Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Ravenswood came into Monday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Point Pleasant Big Blacks by a score of 39-27 on Monday. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Big Blacks are ranked 587th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Point Pleasant still got an impressive performance from Kyla Queen, who posted ten points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Waminan, who had nine points.

Ravenswood's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11. As for Point Pleasant, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Ravenswood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-40 defeat against Ritchie County on the 4th. Point Pleasant has also already played their next contest (against Oak Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
