Basketball Recap: Muncie Central Comes Up Short

Muncie Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 61-18 loss at the hands of the Greenfield-Central Cougars. The Bearcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greenfield-Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chaney Brown, who went 7 for 10 en route to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Brown's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Madison Sonsini was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine boards.

Muncie Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Greenfield-Central, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Muncie Central has already played their next contest (against Lapel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Greenfield-Central will head out to face off against Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenfield-Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.
