Southwestern Randolph put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 59-45 victory over the Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Eagles are ranked 139th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kayla Brown and Reagan Burris certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Brown dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Burris posted 11 points. Those 11 points gave Burris a new career-high.

Southwestern Randolph's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Uwharrie Charter Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4.

The future could be bright for both Southwestern Randolph and Uwharrie Charter Academy: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Southwestern Randolph will look to extend South Stanly's ten-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Uwharrie Charter Academy will try to hand Wheatmore their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
