After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Freeport, Vernon was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Bay Tornadoes with a sharp 11-5 win. With that victory, the Yellowjackets brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Lila Owens was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Roche, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Vernon's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Bay, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
