Basketball Recap: Bowie Sets Scoring Season-High Against Maud

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bowie). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 75-34 win over the Maud Cardinals. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 22 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Maud saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mallorie Bishop posted 23 points. Bishop's evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The victory (which was Bowie's eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-8. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.4 points per game. As for Maud, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Bowie will face off against Clarksville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maud, they will challenge Rivercrest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
