Softball Recap: Oil City Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Oil City kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Wilmington Greyhounds, falling 14-4. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 13 in a row.

Oil City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shalyn Whittemore, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Looking ahead, Oil City will square off against Girard at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Wilmington, they will challenge Jamestown at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
