They came out on top against the Austin Royals HomeSchool Royals by a score of 50-39. Given the Defenders' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 165th in Kansas, while the Royals are ranked 710th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
