Volleyball Recap: Carver High School of Engineering & Science's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

If Carver High School of Engineering & Science was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of St. Joseph's Prep last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Carver High School of Engineering & Science took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northeast Vikings on Tuesday. Carver High School of Engineering & Science has struggled against Northeast recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Northeast scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 23-25, 25-23.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science's offense was headlined by Ziyan Hemmingway and Tony Crews, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Masaki Dickerson and his 28 assists. Finally, Hemmingway was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, Carver High School of Engineering & Science fell to 4-1. As for Northeast, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Carver High School of Engineering & Science will face off against rival Masterman at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Northeast is set to square off against their familiar foe George Washington at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
