Soccer Game Preview: Waco vs. Belton

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Waco take on Belton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Waco has ten straight victories, Belton has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Last Tuesday, Waco got the win against Lake Belton by a conclusive 6-2. Considering the Lions have won nine games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Belton didn't have quite enough to beat Chaparral on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Waco's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five matches. As for Belton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Waco was able to grind out a solid victory over Belton in their previous matchup back in February, winning 4-2. Will Waco repeat their success, or does Belton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
