Basketball Recap: Springfield International Charter School Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Springfield International Charter School had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 67-47 to the Central Golden Eagles on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alaysia Mondon, who went 9 for 16 to rack up 20 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. What's more, Mondon also posted a 40% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in January of 2024. Jai-Lyn Garvin-Martin was another key player, putting up 16 points and five steals.

Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Springfield International Charter School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central, they will square off against Northampton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
