Recap: Alexander Cougars vs. South Paulding Spartans
The Alexander Cougars put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 78-68 victory over South Paulding. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Alexander's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gregory Dunson, who scored 20 points along with 7 assists and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Allen Stoddard, who scored 25 points along with 5 rebounds.
Alexander's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for South Paulding, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alexander will face off against Paulding County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Paulding, they will head out on the road to face off against Douglas County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Douglas County and South Paulding are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
