Montverde Academy entered their tilt with Geneva on Wednesday with 12 consecutive wins  dating back to last season, and they'll enter their next game with 13. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Geneva Knights  an   18-0 shutout.
 LaBreah Sands was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. What's more,  she gave up only zero  hits, the fewest she's  had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in March of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Ashley Berkemeier was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. Another player making a difference was  Leila Susaia, who  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
Montverde Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Geneva, their  loss was their first of the  season and  makes their record 2-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montverde Academy will host Cornerstone Charter Academy  at 2:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Geneva, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Lyman  at 4:00  p.m.
