Basketball Recap: Escalon Gets the Win

Escalon hadn't done well against Calaveras recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Escalon Cougars pulled ahead with a 46-45 photo finish over the Calaveras Red Hawks. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Hawks, too.

The win made it two in a row for Escalon and bumps their season record up to 9-5. As for Calaveras, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Escalon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Golden Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Golden Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Calaveras, they will head out on the road to take on Liberty Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
