Champion won the last time they faced Newton Falls, and Kennedy Caldwell did her part to make sure it happened again. The Champion Golden Flashes had just enough and edged the Newton Falls Tigers out 34-31 thanks in part to Caldwell, who went 5 for 10 to rack up 14 points along with four steals and three blocks. What's more, she also posted a 50% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024.

Champion's record now sits at 8-14. As for Newton Falls, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Champion will take on Chippewa in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Newton Falls, they have already played their next contest, a 47-16 win against Windham on the 8th.
