Softball Recap: La Porte Slicers vs. Jimtown Jimmies

La Porte was the 7-3 winner over Jimtown when they last played one another back in May of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The La Porte Slicers wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Marcy Bearickx spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Reghan Stephany was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a double.

On Jimtown's side, Abbey Brown was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and a stolen base. Kendal McPhee was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
