Basketball Game Preview: Blacksburg Wildcats vs. Chesnee Eagles

The Blacksburg Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the Chesnee Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Blacksburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Greenville Tech Charter for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-25 win. The Wildcats pushed the score to 64-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors had no chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, Chesnee blew past Brashier Middle College Charter, posting a 78-50 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Chesnee's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Blacksburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Blacksburg beat Chesnee 62-55 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Blacksburg since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
