Basketball Game Preview: North Harrison Cougars vs. Corydon Central Panthers

The North Harrison Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Corydon Central Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Harrison has given up an average of 57.1 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, North Harrison was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-54 to Austin. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Eagles are ranked 91st).

Despite their loss, North Harrison saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Grace Goldman, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards, was perhaps the best of all. Goldman is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Carlee Chatman was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Corydon Central managed to keep up with Madison until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Panthers lost 64-40 to the Cubs. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Corydon Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for North Harrison, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

North Harrison lost to Corydon Central on the road by a decisive 64-47 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
