Softball Recap: Lafayette Takes a Loss

Lafayette lost to Mandeville back in March of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lions came up short against the Skippers, falling 11-5. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kaylee Morgan was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those doubles were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ella Larpenteur, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Mandeville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Lafayette didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-6 defeat against Northshore on the 7th. As for Mandeville, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-5 loss against Acadiana on the 7th.
