Baseball Game Preview: Anderson Raptors vs. Milford Eagles

For the second straight game, Anderson will face off against Milford. The Raptors will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Anderson will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Anderson and Milford, and Anderson kept the tradition alive. The Raptors came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday.

Mason Glen tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eric Fleetwood and Hudson Best did most of the damage at the plate: Fleetwood went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, while Best went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Best is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Tommy Huster also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Anderson now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Milford, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Anderson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Milford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
