Football Recap: Highland Bulldogs vs. Freeburg Midgets
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Highland can now relate to. They fell 46-36 to the Freeburg Midgets on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (34), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.
Freeburg found their leader in sophomore Joseph Carmack, who rushed for 193 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries, and also threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. Carmack really tore up the turf during one magnificent 95-yard run. Cooper Kisgen was another key player, rushing for 75 yards and two scores.
Highland's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Freeburg, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
As of now, neither Highland nor the Midgets have any future games scheduled.
