Soccer Recap: Byron Takes a Loss

After soaring to seven goals the game before, Byron was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Genoa-Kingston Cogs who were credited with the win. The Genoa-Kingston Cogs got it done in the shootout by posting two goals to the Byron Tigers' zero. Byron were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Genoa-Kingston apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Byron's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2-2. As for Genoa-Kingston, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Byron will welcome Indian Creek at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Genoa-Kingston, they will host Mendota at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
