Basketball Recap: Alva Drops Highest Score of Season Against Star-Spencer

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alva). They put the hurt on the Star-Spencer Bobcats with a sharp 78-58 victory on Thursday. Given the Goldbugs' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Bobcats are ranked 410th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Alva and bumps their season record up to 10-3. As for Star-Spencer, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Alva wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 52-37 loss against Oklahoma City S on the 24th. As for Star-Spencer, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-33 victory against Luther on the 24th.
