Volleyball Recap: Kate Duncan Smith DAR Takes a Loss

Kate Duncan Smith DAR dropped down to 24-20 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Madison County Tigers, falling 3-0. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Emma Guffey paced Kate Duncan Smith DAR's offense, picking up 16 kills. Guffey got some help from Gillian Head and her 28 assists.

As for Madison County, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 21-16. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11th (when they won 3-0).

Madison County was led to victory by Paige Bradshaw and Lola Dodson. Bradshaw had 24 digs and five aces, while Dodson had 14 digs. Those five aces gave Bradshaw a new career-high.

Coincidentally, Kate Duncan Smith DAR and Madison County will both be playing Randolph School the next time they take the court. The Patriots will host the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
