Softball Game Preview: Lake Worth Bullfrogs vs. Bridgeport Bulls

Lake Worth is on a nine-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Bridgeport a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Lake Worth Bullfrogs will be playing at home against the Bridgeport Bulls at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lake Worth fell victim to Burkburnett and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 16-0.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Bridgeport and Burkburnett had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Bridgeport lost 9-3 to Burkburnett on Monday.

Paytin Orr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bridgeport saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Baylee Snyder, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Bridgeport's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Lake Worth, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Lake Worth suffered a grim 19-2 defeat to Bridgeport when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Lake Worth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
