Baseball Recap: West Lowndes Takes a Loss

West Lowndes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Vardaman Rams, falling 13-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 25-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

West Lowndes' loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Vardaman, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. West Lowndes will take on rival Smithville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Vardaman is set to square off against their familiar foe Houlka at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Rams' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Wildcats have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
