Berthoud had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 23-25, 25-17, 26-24, 15-10.
Thompson Valley better focus on containing Addison Patinella and Kyndall Viegut as the pair were huge in Berthoud's win. Patinella had ten digs, while Viegut had 12 kills, five digs, and one block. Those ten digs gave Patinella a new career-high.
Berthoud was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 14 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Thompson Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Berthoud, their victory bumped their record up to 13-0.
