Baseball Recap: Cheyenne Mountain Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Cheyenne Mountain won against Silverado last Saturday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks put the hurt on the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans with a sharp 15-1 victory. That 14 run margin sets a new team best for the Red-Tailed Hawks this season.

Javin Eslinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Cheyenne Mountain got a massive performance out of Jansen Roberts, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs Roberts has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Noah Reickert, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Roberts wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Cheyenne Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Cheyenne Mountain pushed their record up to 4-0-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Cheyenne Mountain will be playing in front of their home fans against Pine Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they will head out to square off against Lewis-Palmer at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
