At the plate, the team relied heavily on Josh Mendez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Jimenez, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rancho Cucamonga never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on Etiwanda with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Rancho Cucamonga's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Grant Thomas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Brock Foulds was another, going 2-for-5 with one run and one double.
Rancho Cucamonga was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Etiwanda only posted a batting average of .160.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Chino Hills has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rancho Cucamonga struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Chino Hills skirted past Rancho Cucamonga 1-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
