Softball Recap: Homer Takes a Loss

If Homer was feeling good fresh off their 14-6 takedown of Redington on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mariners lost 17-5 to the Soldotna Stars on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Mariners in their meetings with the Stars: they've now lost four in a row.

Almalinda Norman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Those hits were her first of the season.

Homer's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Soldotna, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1-1.

Soldotna has already played their next contest (against North Pole), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Homer will be paying especially close attention to the Stars' matchup: after the Stars face off against Kenai Central, they'll take on Homer again at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
