Softball Recap: Frisco Extends Winning Streak to Two

Frisco hadn't done well against Heritage recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Raccoons' pitcher stepped up to hand the Coyotes a 10-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Raccoons have won by exactly ten runs.

Heritage's batters probably weren't too happy with Leija Folauo'o, who pitched a no hitter and racked up seven Ks (she gave up four walks).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bailee Hodnett, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ali Hubbard, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Frisco and bumps their season record up to 8-13-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Heritage, they dropped their record down to 0-17 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Frisco will welcome Independence at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raccoons are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Heritage, they will venture away from home to challenge Lebanon Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trail Blazers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Coyotes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
