Baseball Recap: East Union Has No Trouble Against Pioneer

East Union picked up another tournament win on Friday. They put the hurt on the Pioneer Patriots with a sharp 10-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

East Union got a great performance from Frankie Ostreicher as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. What's more, Ostreicher posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Peyton Heath, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jackson Fay, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

East Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

The win got East Union back to even at 2-2. As for Pioneer, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, East Union will take on Liberty at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Union's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Liberty's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pioneer, they will face off against Downey at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Pioneer is facing Downey at the right time seeing as Downey is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
