Soccer Recap: Sikeston Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Sikeston has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Poplar Bluff Mules. That's two games in a row now that Sikeston have lost by just one goal.

Sikeston's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Poplar Bluff, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Coming up, Sikeston will be playing at home against Massac County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Poplar Bluff, they will take on Farmington at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Poplar Bluff will be up against Farmington's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.92 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
