Basketball Game Preview: Lawrence County Bulldogs vs. Fairview Eagles

The Lawrence County Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Fairview Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawrence County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matchups -- so hopefully Fairview likes a good challenge.

Lawrence County is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since December 28, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Pike County Central by a score of 77-75. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Fairview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by Elliott County and fell 69-34. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Lions are ranked 113th).

Fairview's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Lawrence County, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9.

Lawrence County beat Fairview 70-60 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lawrence County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
