Baseball Recap: Seymour Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Seymour never let their opponents score on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Beech Grove Hornets with a sharp 11-0 win. The matchup marked the Owls' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Not much got past Braden Richey, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Beech Grove off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brady Harpe, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jackson Trueblood, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Seymour hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beech Grove struck out ten times.

Seymour's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Beech Grove, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seymour will host Mitchell at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Beech Grove, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
