Softball Game Preview: Coppell Cowboys vs. Horizon Scorpions

The Coppell Cowboys will face off against the Horizon Scorpions at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Coppell had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 7-4 to A&M Consolidated.

Courtney Hargrove made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kimber Kerrigan was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Horizon's offense. They lost 16-0 to Byron Nelson on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Scorpions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
